Tai Chi, also known as the "moving meditation," is a holistic mind-body exercise originating from China. While most people associate Tai Chi with gentle exercises for senior citizens, few know that Tai Chi was originally a martial art, offering rigorous workouts to adults of all age and fitness level, improving their muscle strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and aerobic conditioning.
The Beginners Level I series is based on traditional Chen Style Tai Chi, the grandfather of all contemporary Tai Chi Styles. It is characterized by intricate coiling and spiraling movements, alternating slow and fast progression, and sudden release of power. The Level I series consists of 12 weekly classes. It teaches eight foundation exercises and a compact 6-Movement Tai Chi Form. Tai Chi classes are $225 for a 10-class card. The full intro series is 12 classes. Additional classes can be attended for $22.50 per class. The 10 classes purchased for $225 must be used during the Winter 2017 series and are not transferable to another series.
